New Water Truck For Charlton HRC

MEDIA RELEASE – 21/10/2016

NEW WATER TRUCK FOR CHARLTON HRC

The Charlton Harness Racing Club has taken delivery of it’s new Water Truck, thanks to the assistance of the State Government and Harness Racing Victoria through the Victorian Racing Infrastructure Fund.

The 2000 Iveco Tanker was sourced and fitted out by Casey’s Truck And Tractor, St. Arnaud.

Club President, Mr. John Tormey, said that “the new truck will be invaluable in helping the Club produce racing surfaces of the highest quality and equal to any in the State”.

“With the addition of this new truck the Club will also be able to utilise the old water truck at our Training Track and Complex, which will greatly benefit our local trainers through being able to better prepare and maintain an improved training surface”, Mr. Tormey said.

“We are greatly appreciative of the financial assistance provided by both the State Government and Harness Racing Victoria in securing this vehicle via their VRIF Funding. Such generous and ongoing support for harness racing in country regions is integral in maintaining the success of harness racing throughout all of Victoria.”

Vale Anne Marsh

The Charlton Harness Racing Club, Committee and Members were both shocked and deeply saddened by the sudden death on 29th July of our esteemed long term treasurer, committee member & friend, Anne Marsh.
Anne has been a much valued and competent Treasurer for almost 20 years. She managed her role in the club as both Treasurer and committee member with dedication and enthusiasm.
Anne possessed a positive and very practical attitude and this was no more evident than with her job within our club, her role as Treasurer may originally have begun as being quite straight forward, but in recent years the position evolved into being quite complex. But Anne was not daunted by this; she took it all in her stride, as she did with life in general. Anne had a profound impact within our club and the harness racing industry, right down to the owners (Anne had part-owned horses herself) trainers, drivers and officials with whom she interacted at every Charlton Trots meeting. We will miss Anne Marsh immensely.
